The Ferrari Finali Mondiali event recently held at the UAE did not only see the first live appearance of the LaFerrari FXXK but also saw the first delivery of the Ferrari Sergio to its new owner. This new and radical car was designed by Pininfarina and is very rare indeed as only six specimens of this limited edition roadster are being built.
The car was created to celebrate the spirit and core values of the historic Cambiano company in the 60th anniversary year of its collaboration with Ferrari. And it is in no doubt that ‘Sergio’ is the perfect choice of name for the model as it was Sergio Pininfarina who had sealed this unique and longstanding partnership with the Prancing Horse.
Based on the 458 Spider, the Sergio still retains the same technological content and the functional aspects of its cockpit. Powered by a 4.5-liter V8, the 605-horsepower engine is still one of the best naturally aspirated power plant available as it had won the International Engine of the Year award on three consecutive occasions, offering a zerotohundred time in just 3 seconds.
The highlight of the Sergio is undoubtedly its unique exterior feature where Pininfarina had given the 458 Spider a whole new look. The Sergio gets a new set of headlights, a redesigned front bumper and splitter, and a two-tone look that goes all the way to the rear of the car. The rear has also been redesigned, giving the Sergio dual exhausts, a new rear bumper and engine cover.
