The brand new Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the most-awaited versions from the 991 variant. But unfortunately for both Porsche and those who had already got the GT3 into their garage, the tendency for this hardcore 991 to catch fire was worrying Porsche so much that they had issued a recall for all 785 cars sold earlier.

To solve the issue of these well-cooked GT3s, Porsche spokesman Nick Twork had announced that the company intends to replace the engines in each of the cars affected by the recall which was issued last month. He also said that it was confirmed that the connecting rod fasteners are to blame in the incidents.

The repair will take roughly about a day, once Porsche dealers begin receiving the revised engines. “It will take us a little while to build the engines. I don’t know the specific timeframe but we’ll do it as quickly as we possibly can”, said Twork.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is adored by the enthusiasts as it is a hardcore, stripped-down model that focuses more on performance and little on creature comfort. Even so, Porsche had surprised many when they fitted the new GT3 with a dual-clutch transmission instead of a manual like the previous generations.
