When Peugeot debuted their armed-to-the-teeth T16 Pikes Peak hill climber, we knew that it was going to be a spectacular show; especially with the amazing rally driver Sebastien Loeb piloting the machine. Finishing the ‘Race to the Clouds’ in 8:13.878, it was more than one and a half minute faster than the previous record set by Rhys Millen of 9:46.181. Now, both Peugeot and Loeb are set to put another arena into their list of domination: the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s hill climb.

While the Goodwood’s might not be as nerve racking as Pikes Peak, this is nevertheless a great place to display the prowess of their machine. Since they now hold the record for Pikes Peak, it is time for them to shift their attention to the record holder of Goodwood’s hill climb which was done by Nick Heidfeld in a McLaren MP4/13 with a time of 0:41.60.

With 875-horsepower from a 3.2-liter V6 engine and only 875 kilograms to worry with, the 208 T16 Pikes Peak car can do a 0-100 in just 1.8 seconds. It is matched to a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, and has a body made out of carbon fiber.

The record made by an F1 car is nothing short of being blisteringly fast. But can this steroid-pumped Pug put it to shame?
