We are just a mere week away from one of the biggest annual auto show and the leaks keep on coming. This time round, its from Jaguar and its with regards with their latest hot iteration of the wagon which they call the XF Sportbrake. It has been around for a while now and we must say that with all the Germans taking over this market segment, its about time Jaaaaggg takes part in this bandwagon too!

Heres a glimpse of what you can expect. Dubbed as the XFR-S Sportbrake, it will feature similar performance output as that hot blue XFR-S supersaloon. Thats right – powered by a 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine, it will produce a whopping 542bhp and 680nm which will all be channeled to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Zerotohundred time can be derived from the saloon’s time of 4.6 seconds, where the Sportbrake may just be a little slower due to its slightly heavier figure. With a top speed of 180mph, it will give the Germans a good run for the money most definitely. Packing improved aerodynamics, taken directly from the saloon iteration, the XFR-S Sportbrake will be the hottest SuperWagon in Jag’s current car lineup.

After the launch next week – it is expected that the XFR-S Sportbrake will hit UK showrooms in Q3 this year and go up against rivals like the Audi RS6 and Mercedes E63 AMG wagon. We look forward to obtaining more details about it in due time but until then – we throw the question to the floor. Do you guys think that this is the best approach for the brand to go head-to-head with the germans in the SuperWagon segment?
