210KM/H Mean Mower Challenges the Honda Civic BTCC Racer in a One-Lap Race!

Remember the Mean Mower? A machine that was built for nothing but (mowing the lawn in) speed will now be put to the test, and the guys from Auto Express thought that they have just the right opponent for it. Powered by a 109-horsepower 1.0-liter Honda VTR Firestorm engine, the Mean Mower will be facing off a much more serious challenger; a Honda Civic BTCC race car.

Now this one is built with no compromise in every aspect. 2.0-liter engine, 300-horsepower; the BTCC Civic might not have a great top speed at 257 km/h, but that is already faster than the 0-100 in 4 seconds Mean Mower. And for that, the Mean Mower is given a 40-second head start from the BTCC race machine

With such advantage, can the reigning BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden in the Mean Mower with a power-to-weight ratio of 520bhp per tonne lap the Rockingham’s National Circuit faster than the turbocharged racing-spec Civic driven by teammate Matt Neal? It is both a crazy an interesting race nevertheless, so head on to the video to see if the Mean Mower deserves a spot on the track!
