Track kill – Deer vs Corvette Z06

Although driving down the tracks may sound fun, there are a number of things that a driver needs to keep an eye on to keep the “fun” throughout the whole session. Other drivers, the weather, the track condition, and of course car’s condition are just a part of it. But even with all that being taken care of, drivers should always be prepared for something unexpected to pop out of nowhere and turn the day upside down.

Here we have a guy enjoying his time down at HyperFest 2012 in West Virginia, driving his beloved Corvette Z06 around the tracks. The day was sunny, the weather was great, and the driving was going smooth; almost nothing to indicate of what is going to happen in a few moments.

As he was slowing down after blasting at the track’s straights, a deer appeared on the tracks out of nowhere and instantly crashes into the Z06. Although the deer did not end up inside the car, it did shatter the windshield, showering the driver with bits of glasses.

The deer was most likely to be killed from a crash at such speeds, but the driver escaped the crash unscathed. But as if his bad run with the deer was not unlucky enough, the HyperFest emcee put the blame down to the driver for the thirty-minute delay that held up the next event. And his word of advice from this crash? “Always use your face shield”.

the wave wasnt a sign of ‘get the fcuk out of my way’..

instead, it was a ‘thank you’ sign for letting him pass the other car. Slower car should and never hog the fast lane.

track regulars will and should know this.

morale of the story was, anything can happen on track. Just gotta keep eyes wide open.

One thing tho, why the emcee is blaming the driver? it was an accident for god sake. Things that just happen out of nowhere, its not like the driver is thinking “hey, this final lap Im gonna hit that deer that I think I saw on the last lap so that I could delay the next event”..

shouldve blame the track marshalls instead. How the hell did the deer got into the track?
