Making View Gives Us a 360-Degree Video from Red Bull’s F1 Car!

Like creativity, technology knows no boundaries. Of course, the two of them go along together very well as technology translates the ideas those from one’s creative mind into reality. And what we have right here from Making View is probably how the future generation will experience motor racing in a very interesting way.

They call in the ViewCam 360°, and instantly that already gives us the idea of what this system does. Basically they have created this video system that when mounted on a racing car, like in this case a Red Bull Racing’s F1 machine, enables one to have a full 360° view of the car while watching the video! The concept is pretty much the same as Google’s Street View, except that this one allows you to shift the view while the video is running.

For the time being, this Norwegian company’s impressive system is able to record a fully panoramic image of what is going on around the car with a steady frame rate of 25-30fps. But that is already an astounding feat achieved by them, and it is just a matter of time before they move on to full HD. The video is unavailable, or probably would not work on Youtube, so the only way to view it is to follow this link to Making View’s page here.

If you are interested to find out how the future of motorsports might look like, drop down to their page and do let us know what you think about it, and probably the advantages that come with the system too?
