Lexus LFA Finishes Top in Class at Nurburgring 24 Hours!

It’s always a challenge to build a race car, but it’s even more so when you need to build one that needs to withstand 24 hours of pure brutal mechanical punishment out on a race track. Something Lexus and Gazoo racing has teamed up to do diligently since 2008.

Ever since the start of their LFA’s Nurburgring 24 hours challenge, the novice team has been faced with mechanical failures to crashes to poor performances that’s seen the team finish no higher than 41st place overall.

Even though they’re now in their 5th consecutive year they’re still calling themselves ‘rookies’, and their hard work has finally paid off when they finished 15th overall to take home some ‘bling’ from the top step of their SP8 class, making it the first time a non-German automaker has won this race since a Dodge Viper GTS took the win in 2001 and 2002.

To celebrate their success and five hard years of enduring such pains, the team has produced a short clip that chronicles their endeavours till their current success.
