GRA Nationals Autocross 2012 – Round 2 Preview

While Sundays are taken by most to kick in and have enjoy the every second of relaxing time that they have, the petrolheads down at the Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil car Park B were putting the pedal to the metal in killing every excess second that they could find at the Round 2 of the GRA Nationals Autocross 2012.

And as for the second round, the organizers had changed the venue this time to the Bukit Jalil Stadium’s car park, offering no curbs and has a wider run area compared to the Stadium Shah Alam’s car park. And with that, the GRA guys had prepared a tricky course for the participants; the one that needs a lot of handbrake actions and high-speed slaloms.

And since it rained earlier in the morning, the course was extremely slippery, coupled up with some parts being sandy. Of course, some would look on those factors as a menace, but it had also presented the drivers some extra challenges in proving who could get the best out of it, which the drivers seemed to be coping very well.

The Round 2 saw participants coming in from all levels; from the usual faces seen in major events like drifting all the way to the first timers who wanted to find out firsthand the excitement of such events. And with a relaxing atmosphere during the event, this is more like an event where one pushes the boundary to challenge themselves rather than going against others in reaching the top spot.

A full report of this Round 2 will follow in very soon, so do stay tuned!
