Ferrari 458 Italia at track day

The new Ferrari 458 Italia has looks that are rather, personal. I know a lot of people who don’t think much of it and I know some that totally love it. Well I fall into the latter class as I like how it is all so functional; it looks like that because it all has something to do with going faster. Well if you’re a fan then this is a great video, a bit of a time waster at first but things start to get interesting at the 1:16 mark. It includes in car footage of the Italia lapping what looks to be an Italian race track but that’s just speculating. Special attention to the almost instantaneous gear shifts.

What a beauty and it sounds great in the pits and in the car....
But just my honest opinion.
It sounds like a real bore compared to the 997.5 GT3 RS down the back straight in the beginning part.

For some reason the F360 and the F355 sounds better.

Does displacement of the engine has a big effect on engine sound?

O well.

I think it is specific to this engine. It is the same engine used in A1GP and it made the cars sound utterly dull. Didn't do the A1GP chassis justice at all.

The Zytek sounds so much better.

What happened to the glorious wailing flat plane crank sound form Ferraris?

I guessing it has something to do with the firing order of the new V8. Probably something to do with the direct injection system. Who knows.
