The chequered flag is about 90 minutes away and hardly anything has changed. Ten cars have retired and 33 cars are still in the race, the drivers are more cautious now and so are the pit crews as a mistake now could prove to be very heart-breaking. For Class O, the Petronas Syntium team is still holding to the 1-2 position with their BMW Z4’s with the third placed Porsche 911 GT3 of Team Porsche Club Singapore still a very dangerous five seconds away but the Porsche has only completed 265 laps compared to the BMW’s 272.
In Class A1, Fugazi Racing Team is still in the lead with their Radical SR8 with a time of 2.11:151 and a total of 255 laps completed. Following behind in P2 is still the Aston Martin N24 with a time of 2.22:901, a good 11 seconds behind the Radical and with a total of 247 laps completed. In P3 is J’s Racing with their Honda S2000 with a total of 245 laps completed at a time of 2.27:263 for their last lap.
In Class A2, the Honda Malaysia Racing Team is still in the lead with their Civic Type-R FD2R with a time of 2.27:242 and a total of 249 laps completed. Hot on their heels is the Integra DC5 of Type R Garage Racing Team with a very equal time of 2.27:247. The Honda Malaysia Racing Team really has its work cut out for it as the Integra doesn’t look like it’s letting off anytime soon. In P3 is the Civic FD2 of a Singaporean racing team with a time of 2.26:474 and a total of 245 laps completed.
The race is nearing it’s final hour and this as history has shown is the most dangerous hour as cars are worn out and drivers are fatigued. Plus racing at night on a track that scarcely light up can be very taxing on man and ultimately machine. We will come back to you with the final results.
