The Audi e-tron concept is powered by four electric motors located on each axle. The electric motors are in turn powered by a 213kg lithium-ion battery pack located behind the two seats. This is the best part, maximum power is rated at 313hp and peak torque is rated at a mammoth 4,500Nm (!!). Audi says it will go from 0-100km in 4.8-seconds and will go on to a top speed of 200km/h. A fully charged battery will take the e-tron for as far as 248km.

The e-tron should make it to the market by 2012 at the latest and will compete with other electric cars like the Fisker as well as the production version of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. Several other clean Audis are also due to make a debut including the Q5 hybrid.

With such high torque, i wonder how to use it? And it seems like a big waste of energy.
