Driving exams are a part and parcel of life just as learning how to ride a bike and skate is, everybody goes through it. Well, almost. In South Korea, one woman has been trying to pass the written test since 2005 and has yet to pass. In all, the 68 year old woman, known as Cha, has failed the exam 771 times.
Maybe her age could be the answer to her licensing woes, or maybe South Korea has some wicked-hard test that makes passing for 68 year old people simply impossible, but whatever the case is, her determination is highly commendable. Unfortunately for her, the test isn’t cheap. Each and every failure costs Cha 6,000 won, which equals about RM16. That’s not much but spread that over 771 failures and we’re now talking about RM12,336. Why such fierce determination? Cha is hoping to get a car to help her business. She sells food and household items door to door. Think it’s about time to get a younger business partner to help out with the driving or a chauffeur.
