Thought the Lamborghini Reventon was rare and exclusive? Think again. This is the Lamborghini Zagato Raptor, a one off concept Lambo first unveiled at the 1996 Geneva show. Based on the Diablo VT, the Raptor takes on every bit of attitude from the Diablo and throws in some of its own. It retained the Lambo’s 492hp V12 but lost its electronic gadgets, specifically traction control and ABS, two fundamental systems required to keep the Diablo on a leash.
Only one was ever produced and its design somewhat echoes the Spyker C12 concept and features the carrozzeria signature double bubble roof that tilts up the doors. The raptor was developed in conjunction with Swiss sledding champion Alain Wicki for reasons unknown to us. Public reception for the car was overwhelming but the car never made it to production. Well with the absence of safety nets like traction control and ABS, it could be a good thing too. All that remains of this legend is this one original show car which is now going up for auction at Pebble Beach. Any bidders?
