The world is anticipating Lamborghini’s all new front-engined, four-door concept, it’s supposedly due to be revealed any day now but that wait came to an early end to as a French website unceremoniously revealed the concept the Internet community has been referring to as the Estoque.
Some expected the teaser shots to be of a coupe but these low-res images prove otherwise. The Estoque features a long hood and short rear deck, with horizontal headlights up front and a pair of big Reventon-style air intakes in the front bumper. The fender vents behind the front wheels are tucked into the car’s character line that flows back until it hits those wide rear haunches. All that sums up to be this, probably the most controversial car to emerge out of Sant’Agata since the Countach and to some eyes, possibly the most beautiful.
Word on the internet is telling us to expect the Lambo concept to be powered by the same 560-hp V10 powerplant from the Gallardo LP560-4 as well as the all-wheel-drive system but we never expected the bumper to be a derivative of the one from the LP560-4 as well, to our eyes, it doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the look.
The Estoque will show up as a concept this weeks Paris Motor Show but is said to be destined for production as early as 2010 to compete with the new crop of four-door coupes from Porsche (Panamera), Aston Martin (Rapide), Mercedes (CLS) and Maserati (Quattroporte). Shots from the official unveiling will be flooding the internet any moment now, so stay tuned.
