Goodyear Takes Drifting To The Stage

imtm-2Goodyear Malaysia has taken its commitment in supporting motorsports to a higher level through its sponsorship of Malaysia’s first musical that saw a real live car performing drift stunts on stage.

The collaboration between Goodyear and Excellent Pictures started with the sponsorship of the Impak Maksima television series which received one of the higest ratings when it was aired on TV3 earlier this year. Both Goodyear and the producers of Impak Maksima The Musical are convinced that the musical will definitely showcase the sport of drifting in a new light.

The musical featured the Goodyear Drift team performing drift stunts on stage, the first time in the history of a stage production. The team led by Ser Ming Hui aka Ah Fai drifted in cars that were fitted with Goodyear ultra high performance tires.

“Goodyear is fully committed in supporting motorsports activities in Malaysia. While this event may not necessarily be classified as a motorsport activity per se, given the popularity of drifting as well as the TV series, Impak Maksima The Musical seems like a natural progression and Goodyear is proud to be part of it,” said Law Kwan Thean, Marketing Director of Goodyear Malaysia.

they even made a 'wrecked' replica of the car...shown during the climax of the show...sliding down from behind the stage. Kudos to crew's effort in showcasing a rather radical show but it is not that impressive 4 me.

Huuuaaaarrrrkkkkk!!!!!!!!! I already hate the TV series. So how can they justify the lousy show to be made into a musical. Hello!!!! PGL is waaayyyy much more better as a musical than this, even if it is a different genre.

People watch IM for drift scenes. BUT the fact that the producers can make it into a love show is really a turn off!! REMPIT was wayyyyy more better movie than IM. A movie that is lesser logical than REMPIT and EVOLUSI DRIFT put together. But they did make a TV Rempit vs IM last raya. So how was that? I wonder why they milk the title when it isn;t that interesting at all?! Save for some drift scenes.
