Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spyder – Unconfirmed But Highly Desirable

scuderiaspyder3When you have a car that is as purpose made as the 430 Scuderia, it’s hard to improve on it. Almost every component of the car is built to work in unison to deliver that ‘ultimate driving experience’. So what happens when you remove a component? You get a convertible aka cabriolet aka spyder. These images you see here are both renderings and actual photo’s of what is supposedly the Scuderia Spyder but could just be a regular 430 Spyder with an extensive tuning package. The renderings are the work of expert renderer Jon Sibal  and though there is no official word on the Scuderia Spyder, word has it that it could be revealed on November 5th at the Ferrari Challenge at Mugello, Italy.

Though production hasn’t been confirmed yet, rumour’s are abound that the Spyder will feature a retractable hard top rather than the lighter, more appropriate, convertible fabric. The hard top will add some 70kg to the lightweight Scuderia which is a lot for a high performance car. Ferrari, recognising this, will counter the performance sucking weight problem by incorporating its brand new 7-speed dual clutch transmission system which will debut in the brand new Ferrari California. Seven gear ratio’s with double clutch provide for faster, smoother shifts and allows the Scuderia’s 500hp to be stretched through more gears meaning the performance drop due to the extra weight won’t be felt.

If the Scuderia Spyder does make it to production, only 300 of the hardcore Spyder will see the light of day. There is also no news whether Ferrari will build right hand drive versions of it either.

sorry coz maybe i get it wrong but i know that the last F430 scuderia is track car i.e illegal road car... so this soft top is also same? convertible version of a track car just only for racing in circuit?
the F430 Scuderia is a road-legal car and so will the convertible.. if its ever built..

Ermmm........ Don't like......

I only believe track/ daily car to be with roof. Sorry to say convertible, targa, whatever removable roof should not be used on track. Unless you are purpose built for it like a Caterham, Ariel Atom or even a Caparo. But those cars you don't want to drive on the road even if you can. for obvious reasons.

Now if the made the F430 spyder... go ahead. Its for the rich anyway. But a F430 SCUD spyder..... now thats silly. Should have made a FXX spyder since the last F50 did come without a roof!!! Lets see ferarri do that!
