Malaysia’s largest Lotus convoy-gathering

Kuala Lumpur witnessed the largest Lotus convoy gathering ever in Malaysia yesterday. To commemorate the release of the new sci-fi action movie, ‘The Host’, over 60 cars across the whole Lotus range, from the Elise to the Evora, made an appearance to ensure that the event was a tremendous success.

The event was organised by Nusantara Edaran Film (NEF) and Lotus Cars Malaysia, to promote the movie which featured a beautifully chromed up Lotus Evora driven by the alien baddies called, ‘The Seeker’. The looks of the Evora matches with the theme of the movie, bringing to life, the ‘alienistic’ and futuristic characterics.

Chromed up Evora and Malaysia’s largest Lotus gathering this weekend!

Something special is about to make way on our streets – a chromed up Lotus Evora. In fact theres two of them! Now, if you don’t fancy shiny objects, let’s keep things clear that this is an effort to promote the new film, ‘The Host’ which feature a couple of chrome Lotus Evoras in the movie.

‘The Host’ is a movie adaptation of the book written by Stephanie Myer, writer of the ‘Twilight Saga’ series. Alien baddies called – ‘The Seekers’ – who chases humans and erasing their memory were set to drive something fast and futuristic. Therefore, it was an intricate challenge for the directors to choose the right set of wheels to be featured in the movie. In the end the Lotus Evora was chosen for its futuristic looks. The Evora, when wrapped in chrome vinyl, truly gives an’ alienistic’ aura to the sci-fi movie with sufficient fire power to chase down helpless humans.

The Venom GT Sets a new 0-300km/h World Record!

Just how fast is “fast”? If you think the Bugatti Veyron or Koenigsegg’s Agera R properly represents “fast”, then we might have a new member joining in the club. We have heard of the Hennessey Venom GT being able to make a 0-320km/h dash in a daunting 15.9 seconds, but that is just what they claimed. The Plot Thickens – Lotus Sues Former CEO Dany Bahar on Excessive Spending

The Lotus-Dany Bahar case seems to be going nowhere near to an end. Starting off with his dismissal from Lotus, Bahar then sues Lotus for an extravagant USD 10.6 million for he claims was a “wrongful dismissal and other damages”. And now, the plot thickens as Lotus barges in with their own lawsuit towards the former CEO as he allegedly spent an excessive amount on renting properties, private flights, and even watches.

Hennessey Venom GT2 – 1,500bhp bi-turbo V8 Confirmed for 2014!

As if the Bugati Veyron’s 1,000+bhp wasn’t enough – well it can never be enough can it? Not so with Hennessey Performance and their Lotus-based Venom GT and GT2 The Venom GT2 will be getting upgrades rather than being replaced, and though there’s no full technical details for the GT2 at the moment, one things for certain – an additional 300 ponies will be added to the GT2’s previous 1,200bhp as well as some aesthetic upgrades for eye-candy.

Speedy Sunday! – Emperor Touge’s 21/10 Ulu Yam Run

The weather we are having lately might not be the best for any outdoor activity, and it was too bad for the thousands of fans filling up the Sepang International Circuit to have their fast-paced MotoGP being red-flagged due to the torrential downpour.  But earlier on in the morning of 21st October fortunately, the dark clouds still shroud the skies but left the tarmac nice and dry, just as preferred by the Emperor Touge guys to carry on their ascent towards the Ulu Yam touge route.
