The name Hennessey might not be as famous as Koenigsegg or Bugatti in this part of the world, but they are slowly climbing the ladder in becoming one of the recognized builders in the automotive scene. Earning themselves a spot in the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-300km/h, Hennessey somehow figured that the Venom GT needed more power.
The Texan builder will be revealing their updated version of the Venom GT hypercar which features more power than before. By modifying the twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 engine to be able to run on E85 Flexfuel, Hennessey was able to increase boost pressure from 19psi to 26psi which resulted in a power increase to a total of 1451bhp, 207 more than the previous version.
Since the previous version rolled with 1244-horsepower and was able to do a verified to speed of 435.17km/h back in 2014, Hennessey said that the new version has the capabilities to clock more than 450km/h and a 0-100 timing in 2.4 seconds, 0-160 in 12.8 seconds and a quarter mile run in 9.4 seconds.
The updated Venom GT also features a special GPS-based traction control with pre-calibrated setting for certain tracks, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and a curb weight of 1,244kg. The V8 is also mated to a manual gearbox, so you would imagine handling this beast takes serious guts.
