Will Run Flat tyre fit normal rims?

I know rims fitted with run flat tires (factory) can use normal tires but will run flat tyres fit normal rims and work? Some say yes and some say no cos the RFT will fit on normal rims but have a tendency to slip in a puncture and with the RFT run above 80km/h the tyres might fail and etc.

Update: Have just made confirmation with RFT tire users that the RFT will work and fit on normal rims without any problems

Just curious, who were the "some" person that told you abt the rim/tyre compatibility?
