Hi bros, can share what is your oil and water temperature for your satria neo?

Thanks!

Standard :
water temp at night cruising is between 70-75 degrees C
water temp in the day town driving is between 75-90 degrees C

Normal lah for oil to be that high..depends on the type of oil you use also.

now, after i did something to the cooling system :
cruising day / night : 83-85 degrees C ( night time drops to 78 degrees C depending on weather )
town driving : 83-90 degrees C

I have yet to install oil temp gauge. still have not solve how to relocate the filter lol

Oh I tot mine is very high cos my friend's gen2 1.6a ard 85-90 only! I jus used a adaptor in between e oil filter n engine. Using a shorter oil filter too.

I modified some stuff, so using a short filter makes oil filter change a 10 minutes job lol..

im running cooled water to the oil filter. hence, no room for adapter.. :(

Wow, can share the setup with me?
Any pictures?
DIY?

Yup, DIY.
When we meet, i will tell u how its done. not really complicated..not really done neatly yet, but to me it works la..

Whoo nice!! I assume you are using the engine coolant to cool the oil? Cause I remember the Toyota Celica ST185 is also using a similar concept. IT has a water oil coolant. There is an outlet from the engine which will pipe coolant to the oil cooler and back to the radiator.

Exactly.
The outlet from radiator directly to the oil filter, and then joins back to the cylinder head.
It took me 2-3 days to finish this project..DIY mah..

Salute!!! Very nice! Btw where did you get the adapter from? I also want to DIY oil cooler!!

save the trouble and headache, get the air-to-oil cooler. saves you alot of time and labor.
mind you, you need to remove the intake manifold to reach the water hose...then find space to fit two hoses near the block, just missing the drive shaft.
and also, oil filter change is somewhat a hassle with this setup :thefinger:

hahaha.. think when i change bumper that time i install a oil cooler.. oil temp at 102C is getting too hot for comfort..

my neo's oil temp is usually 90-100.. one time rembat kaw2 saw it nearing the red line at 110c.. but that was on brand X engine oil.. now running different engine oil brand.. never went above 100c so far... would love to try mobil engine oils next.. they are famous for being able to cope with high temperature conditions.. would be interesting to note at what range they operate.. my only experience with mobil previously was when i used mobil one full syn on my scooter.. with petronas or other engine oils my scooter radiator fan kept running even after i cabut the keys.. with mobil one, the radiator fan didnt ran after i turn off the ignition..

just did some 170km/h runs on highway, water temp maintains at 85degrees, oil went up to almost 120degrees. Maybe the ELF 5w40 oil i am using is not good.. or should I invest in a oil cooler since I plan to go track.

i removed my water-to-oil cooler already :D

now water temp is showing 83degrees C when cruising regardless of weather ( except when it rains super heavy temp went down to 60+degrees C; worrying.. )

just to share, my oil temp using mineral oil cruising is 95degrees C , high speed cruising is 113degrees C average. thinking to get an oil cooler..but..sigh..scared oil wont be up to good temperature range, especially when it rains.

any suggestions where to place the air-to-oil cooler ?

Ideally, the cooler should be located at hi air pressure area...like at the vent of the front of bumper. to take advantage of incoming air.

however, if cannot find such place, a small electric fan can be attached to the cooler, actuated by manual toggle switch to turn it on/off, whenever there is a spike in the temperature, like during traffic jam, or when rembatting the engine time....
