The Nissan GT-R has been killing it on almost every type of racing it has entered, be it circuit, road rallies and even drag racing. Now however, the GT-R has been bestowed the true drag racing treatment as the interwebs are chirping with news that ITP Racecars in Perth, Australia, has been working on a trio of funny car style GT-R drag racers.
Just like the funny car drag racers you see in America, the GT-Rs are all tube-chassis, carbon fiber bodied drag machines capable of drilling in some low passes on the quarter mile strip.
ITP have been very quiet about the drivetrain but an educated guess from the pictures reveals what appears to be an inline six mill between the rails. That points to either a full race prepped RB26 or RB30 powerplant, according to 2009GTR.com. If that proves to be true, low six second passes on the strip can be expected.
