Many vehicle manufacturers use rubber-mounting systems for their steering rack and pinions. There are many reasons for this, however the main include reduction in road shock and transfer of road noise, while providing some tolerance for misalignment of location mounts.

SuperPro have produced a number of cost effective rack mounts to overcome this situation and to provide positive location of the rack with no deterioration of the mounting material. Polyurethane is not effected by mineral oils, ultra-violet light, acids and most chemicals. Replacement of rack mounts with polyurethane ensures that all steering movements will be communicated to the steering road wheels without loss of motion or transfer of road shock and noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).

As the vehicles age, leakage of lubricating oils and the effect of ultraviolet light cause the original mounts to degrade. The end results of this is movement of the rack in its mounting location causing the vehicle to wander, introducing instability and change in the rolling toe. While these are obviously critical problems, replacement mountings are traditionally expensive or no longer exist in original equipment catalogues.

DON’T BUY NISSAN.

I owned a brand new Nissan Sylphy since August 2008. Until 09/04/2010, my car mileages run up to 90,000 km.(Car age: 1 year 7 month).
