jus for ur info the 350z was sold.. of coz i don really drive the GT3 around but its my favourate car so i jus hav it in my profile.. its my right n i don see it as that serious to be acuse of being arrogant.. its not like i m leaking info that u all dun know..

SKILL MY ASS! 4wd, traction control, sticky icky tyres! you want me to list more stuff ke? try and throw a std wira on any corner in sepang like your sti on sepang. bull shit... emmph!

pimp

i dorve sti on the track before.. it aint really easy or rather pleasant to drive on the track.. it understeers like mad.. u hav to flick the car before u enter the corner n that requires some level of car control to make it fast.. but mayb its jus easier than a standard wira coz i drove a wira on the track b4 but dint really push it so cant comment on that ;)

The perception of 4wd being easy to drive is totally not true.. As wat GT3 said, its a bitch to drive on corner entry.. But the traction u get out of it sort of made up for it.. :D I believe no car is totally fool proof, it just have a higher physical limitation than the lesser cars.. Everyone can feel invincible like a true racer in one of those rally specials.. but to shed off that few seconds no doubt require some polished driving skills. But u just cant get the oomph factor out of 4wd's and fwd's in the circuit.. my single cent..

yea the combination of turbo n 4 wheel drive make exit from corner is really stunning.. its really fast.. remember i was driving evo7 on the track for a MSS race no1 seems to be able to out accelarate faster than it. but i still prefer GT3.. hehe :P its much more fun n actually much faster
Sat in a racing spec (what do u call that model loaded with bucket seats, roll cage and fire extinguisher) 996 GT3 in sepang, a modded STi is nowhere comparable.. Not even close.. those ceramic brakes r just awesome.. awesomeeee.. Handling is so neutral for a rear engine car. Its a 'must have' car for me. [/b][/quote]
its call the gt3 cup car.. its doesnt have ceramic brakes.. i don think its available for this model but even they hav i think its too exp to get it at the moment.. hmm well STI isnt too pleasant to drive (becoz of understeer) but its not too bad.. the handling of GT3 cup car isnt really nuetral.. its more oversteery actually but i m the sort of driver that prefer oversteer than understeer so i prefer the GT3.. its jus something personal.. erm mid engine cars shud be more nuetral but i m not sure coz come to think of it i haven drive any mid engine road cars or track cars in sepang b4.. so cant be sure

Dear TJ

Like i said in one of my post you have come clean, I had some doubts
bcos you said something about being unsure abt your times in the GT3.
Normally a racer does not forget his times. So I just wanted to know if it was really one of you chin's bcos if not then I can relay this info to the real you abt somebody masquerading as you in this forum.
To find out the truth it sometimes has to hurt. Peace be with you and your family. Like I said I really envy you guys.

Ok Im outta of here.....TheModerator has left the building.

PS: Pls dont take this last post as though am trying to polish youre apple

It definitely seemed like some sort of ceramics rather than a cast iron unit to me.. prob. he ticked on the brake options and paid extra?? not sure.. but with a brake disc almost the size of my wheels.. I have never doubt its brakin ability.

WHen I said neutral I meant car well balanced neutral on turn in which I didn't expect from a car with totally opposite polar moment of inertia would feel like... from the passenger seat, that is. I do prefer car with oversteer tendency as well. U cant actually compared a car's 'neutrality' by its engine location, thats too generalising... anyway, a car's weight distribution is never perfectly 50/50 or so .. that is static weight dist. Got to make judgement based on its overall dynamic performance. Which again, I find the Porsche's r german's engineering brilliance! ANyway, haven't got the luck to drive around in one of those, so my comments could be counterfactual.

Try catchin a slide in a mid engine car, u need lightning response. :D

its definately not ceramic becoz when they replace the brake i was there. its cast iron. mayb better quality but for sure not ceramic. it doesnt feel like ceramic even when i drove it.

anyway come back to the handling. erm u can actually predict the handling of the car by jus knowing the engine location. mayb u can do so for a road car as most road car nowadays are set to understeer for safety reason. however there are still cars that u could guess. for instance the porsche GT3. the engine is at the rear axle so the weight it concentrated on its rear n the front end is very light. which means whenever u try to turn in the front end will really follow ur guide. thing is normally a very light front end will make a heavy rear end very oversteery. n the oversteer i meant in the previous post is that the car have this handling characteristic in entry, mid corner n also exit from corner. its the faster way to drive it. of coz i don meant very dramatic drifting.

i did catch slides in mid engine car before. jus not road cars. formula cars. yes it need lighthing response. but frankly once i drove the porsche. the oversteer in the formula car really isnt as scary.. haha..

Hi.......a newbie here :)

I drive a GC8 and last weekend was my first time on track..........althought I really enjoy the experince and the company of extra friendly strangers.... :P I very much agree to the quote "perception of 4wd being easy to drive is totally not true"
Needless to say, I was really surprise by the extreme understeer factor of my car and yes trying to 'flick' the car does help a little (althought it's really scary everytime I do it) ......... but the famous stock turbo(-lag) doesn't help much during exit :( ...

Ehhh.... since there's so many sifu :D here any advice on how to improve my performance and to tackle SIC corners (given my situation). of course without changing turbo leh, slick tyres leh...........

p/s: ehhh if during the last weekend track-day, I was in the way of any sifu out there, I'm sorry just trying really hard to control the understeer during corners :P

erm as far as i can recall when u drive a turbo car on the track the timing u accelerate so that the lag can be gone must be done rightly. normally when u drove into a corner fast enuff n carry enuff speed ur revs are high enuff to maintain the running of the turbo the exit shud be fast. if u are not confident to bring the car in at higher speed well the simple action will be to accelerate earlier.
