Hey guys, I'm new here driving Wira 1.5 AT.

My TB got a bit of a problem right now. My mechanic said that it got problem with sensor or what and now it is like useless. He mod it so that the car still can be drive but not sure how long it will last.

So the current condition is, during idle, if a/c off, the timing will go up and down, a bit jerking and exhaust sounded like poof poof. If a/c on, no problem. This is how my mechanic mod it.

Ur engine injection or carburator system.....if injection, old model(mitsubishi) or new model(siemen VDO).

If mitsubishi injection model, my guess, ur foreman has install FICD to stabalize the idle, but still the idle will happen like ur said...only normal when your on your acc.....

My guess only....

Just my 10 cents..

Lot of improve to everybody....Happy New Year to All.....

Mine is injection '98, should be mitsubishi right ? The idle only happens when A/C off. If A/C on, the jerking while idle didn't feel that major.

yong,
1.3 block is not worth to bore... better get a 1.5 block instead... and the 1.3 cylinder liner is not thick enough

Hey bro. wat the stroker kit are suit for 4g15?

to upgrade 1.6CC?

some said 4g18p can mod plug & play all the stuff to 4g15p?

biz, 4G18 stroker kit --> 4G15 block has been mentioned and tested countless time with no problem. I think guan did also mention it in this topic. That's what's in his block.

hello everyone,

i'm going to own a wira 1.5 auto from my sis,
this car has unknown mileage and my sis barely service it,
any suggestion on what to change for a major service?

thx in advance

1st, 1.5L auto is pretty high in FC.
If the engine condition is too bad, suggest to transplant the engine.
However, if the engine and gearbox condition is good, just change the engine oil and gear oil.
other is depand on the condition.

thx for the reply,

erm, about engine condition...
so far no smoke coming out from exhaust,
but kinda noisy with mouse squeaking noise in cold start,
FC and power is kinda bad

so i'm wondering what else to change besides engine n gear oil to make it better

Hmm.. it's always scary to hear "I'm taking over this car which has never been serviced"... whats the mileage? If you don't know the service history you better don't take any chances. If you have the budget, change everything.

1. Timing belt, aircon belt, basically all the belts. Either one of these snaps and you're gonna spend more than you want to repair. Especially Timing.

2. Do a top overhaul. Might as well spend for a port and polish too. Change all gaskets and oil seals.

3. Do a engine flush and swap over to fully synthetic.

4. Do a gearbox oil flush and pour in good quality SPIII oil. I know some jokers who say Dexron III is better.. better you follow manufacturer specs and put in SPIII. The Proton Wira GB was meant for SPIII and you should stick with it imho.

5. Change brake pads and if your car has high mileage, the brake hoses too.

6. Change radiator hoses (2 big fat ones) and flush your radiator to check for blockages.

Once all that is done, you'll be spending a fair bit of money but you'll get peace of mind and probably better fuel consumption.

how much could it takes for the SC bolt on at Powerzone???

Call them. Their contact number is listed on their webpage.

First time playing with mods ? If you are thinking of just installing an SC into a stock 4g15 vehicle and then stopping there, it won't be prudent. You will be looking at upgrading other areas in addition to the engine before the car can handle force induction safely and reliably.

If you talk to them, they will recommend what needs to be done. Make sure you clarify your budget so they give you a good idea of what's possible.
