It’s no surprise that the rumours regarding the new V12 engine for Pagani’s upcoming C9 supercar have been dragged through some murky waters, which can’t be blamed for the many V12 powerplants in the AMG stable.

Hence, Pagani an AMG have issued a statement to clarify things and make it crystal clear that the V12 engine for the C9 will be especially made just for Pagani.

The statement itself goes like this; “The engine of the Pagani C9 is not a derivative of the AMG V12 engine developed for the SL65 Black Series, nor is the AMG V12 engine in the SL65 Black Series derived from the engine AMG is currently developing for the Pagani C9.

The cars are very different in their character and conception and the engine will reflect this in its technical characteristics and behavior.

The engine in the Pagani C9 has been developed specifically for that application by Mercedes-AMG GmbH.”

Earlier reports put the C9’s 6-liter V12 engine at around the 700hp mark with 1,000Nm of torque, probably from twin turbos. While the end result might differ ever so slightly, it’ll still be a cracker mounted to the rear of the C9.

Bosch’s new eClutch system might just be the best thing for enthusiast drivers since sliced bread. The eClutch system is an electrically-operated clutch for manual cars, or ‘clutch by wire’ if you like. Having a manual car clutch that can be automatically controlled in certain situations has its benefits.
