how to get spare parts for such an old car?. Wont be cheap even if can get, right?. Gotta import from Europe. Here cant get the parts.Correct me if I am wrong.

If can get parts cheap here, then I also wanna consider this car.

I stand 2B corrected but u can still source d parts locally but have 2 do quite a bit of searching...whether its cheap or not is a different story lah

2 me, engine I plan 2 just put in a new model's engine...Easier 2 maintain, more reliable n more power

I asked a few Merc workshop specialists already. They all said this model is very hard to get parts especially the steering box (good luck finding a working condition unit in Malaysia), brake servo and brake pump....all these are essential parts that can't be modified nor replaced with any other parts from other merc model.

You'll have to import direct from Germany...and it'll cost more than Rm10k- rm15k for the steering box alone...without considering labour charge. That's not including the brake servo and pump plus other parts.

Sheesh...I like this model a lot. Too bad in Malaysia this car is no longer practical to maintain...unless I earn a 5 figure salary lah. Then I can afford to import parts from Germany every few months to maintain the car.

7072, i am no merc expert. Just love those classic Merc, that's all. I have a few friends driving w126, w123, w124 and w201. They are the experts, not me.

Though it is not a Merc lover's purist idea......it's very practical to put the much, much newer Japanese Turbo engines with super smooth 6 cylinders, mighty 24V and twin turbo into a classic Merc for a fantastic performance.

Maintenance is much lower than using the old, out of date and tired Merc engine from those days.

it makes more sense to post a picture of your actual car instead of posting the one that is from overseas website.

Then we can see exactly the condition of the car body. Pls post from all 4 angles...front, rear and both sides. Then we'll know if the car is really good condition.

There are many clowns who post only the nice angles...and when you go there to see the car, got dents and also kena bang before in a recent accident!.
