The US market gets the 200hp Type-S, which is effectively and toned down version of the JDM Type-R. Still 6 speed, but you don't get LSD and some other stuff. Not sure if they even have it in RHD though...

The Type-S that we get here through grey importers is the 160hp version which has a 5 speed triptronic gearbox. It will definately not be as fast or handle as sharp, but will be far more comfortable to live with on a daily basis... so it all depends on what u want...

It would be best if you browse or search this forum before posting this question. it has been answered numerous times previously. or perhaps i should make it a sticky.

No. We do not have the 200hp USDM Type-S here in Malaysia.
Its left-hand drive, thats why car-importers dont bring it in.

Just do a google search of the JDM Type-S and you'll find the differences.

can u guys help me out here pls.

looking to change my 2002 wira 1.5(auto) to another mitsu engine.

mainly know that the 4G91 would be a good upgrade but i want something that will satisfy my thirst for power in the long run.

i'm a student so i'm saving money so pls don't tell me to buy a crazy half cut or bolt on turbos and stuff k.

i need reliability as this is the only car i've got.

so if anyone (with exp) from transplanting engines, pls give what u were quoted for and ur experience...
