How to overcome weak low end/weak throttle response?

After doing some research, I understand that the sluggish feel (weak throttle response) of altezza is caused by the heavy dual mass flywheel which weighs about 12kg.

So I have been thinking for a while and I know the only solution to overcome this problem is by replacing the flywheel with an aftermarket flywheel.

May I know where can I get one for my car?
I dont think I can drive the car happily with the OEM flywheel.

-the lightest flywheel that I have ever known is by ORC which weighs about 5.4kg

Thank you in advance.

If i am not mistaken the oem flywheel is not machinable, but idk whether its true or not cos i read that on forums.

This is good.beside using TREC, lighten flywheel will be much help decreasing throtlle lag.

Toda flywheel for altezza cost 50000jpy ~ rm2100.

does the altezza run on drive-by-wire? if yes, would a throttle controller work well? I know some cars truly benefit from it especially automatics

Thanks for the info bro. The TREC, is it can be used in a manual car? I'm sorry for asking this, I have only saw auto cars with it.

yes exactly. the TREC is a good device to reduce throttle lag, but many of the altezza overseas have them DbW changed to DbC.

if u refer to this TREC;

it is compatible to manual altezza.

however the product was discontinued from 2008.

this product can work on both way; with or without pedal sensor.
for altezza it work by manipulating the acceleration signal from ECU. we dont have pedal sensor.

it have only 4 wires; 2 wires for power (IG and GND), the other 2 are for input and output for acceleration sensor as per diagram below;

Afig..another option is to pair your aftermarket flywheel with a 4.5 Final drive..our bro Adrenaline_Rush did that combo in his tezza and very happy with the outcome.

Well i think the acceleration position sensor is suppose to be 'accelerator position sensor',that is equivalent to your pedal sensor,because altezza still used cable to operate the sensor located at the throttle body.

A weak throttle response could be caused by a myriad of things(AFM,throttle body,fuel pump,injectors..etc; best to get a diagnostic on the engine health first.
