My friend got me a mitsubishi ecu for proton, how to check whether this ecu is working or not?

Is it safe to swap this ecu with my current ecu to determing whether my friend's ecu is working ? (the part no. is not the same)

What is the worst case that might occur if i swap an incompatible ecu?

Any help is greatly appreciated here.

hi,

for mmc ecu type, pls refer following link:
http://www.ftowa.com/html/workshop/workshopart07.html

locate the DLC pin#1, short it to ground (pin#4), turn into "ignition on" (but without starting the engine).
if ECU is gone, there is no blink at "engine check" lit.

could u give me the part number of your ecu?
my wira2001 1.3gli is 1400.
my freind wira1999 1.5gli is 1401.
both from apm.

Ok, it only keeps getting worse... this latest incident really starting to scare me, these rempits are reckless dudes who don't care at all about their victims sufferings and if they really do have guns...god bless us Malaysians then...

With a gun they would be able to intimidate a lot more ppl and im sure they would not hesitate to shoot or kill given their recent track record of recklessness... The authorities really got to get cracking against these rempits before things get worse...
