Hello to all,

I am relatively new here and just bought myself a 1.6 Gen 2(M) as a weekend car. I read some comments on the GEN2 CPS and would like to seek best opinions on the following:

i. At what speed best to shift the following gear (with the objective to maintain the lifespan of the engine)

From 1st to 2nd - ? km/h
From 2nd to 3rd - ? km/h
From 3rd to 4th - ? km/h
From 4th to 5th - ? km/h

Hope to get some advice on the above. Cheers!

just shift between 2.5k and 3k RPM for balance of performance and fuel economy.

For lifespan of engine, as long as it doesn't overheat, then it should be problem-free.

Also, once in a while, take it for a 150-160km/h run (10 minutes) to loosen whatever sludge that might be stuck. change engine oil according to the service manual and use original parts. don't use any additives and avoid any 'super-mini turbo-surbo-air-injector' crap.

that should keep your engine running well for years to come.
