Nassc,Some corrections...
190Es are available in
- Inline 4 SOHC at 1.8litres, 2litre (1.978 etc) and 2.3litres
- Inline 6 SOHC at 2.6litres
- Cosworth DOHC with 2.3 and 2.5. The better one which all enthusiasts always says are the 2.3s 16v because it has higher compression. DTM uses 2.3 Cosworths until the EVOs came out.
- The rare ones are the EVO and EVO 2 which are in 2.5litre 16v but different than the non EVO. The EVOs have higher compression and higher rev. EVO2 have 235 hp while EVO has 204. Only in left hand drive form.
- AMG also made a 3.2litre SOHC, which is the stroked version of the 2.6 inline 6
Just to add to your fact about evos being rare and only built as left hand drives, there were only 502 units of EVO and 502 units of EVO2 built for homologation purposes, so most of the "evos" are dressed up 190Es unless of course you come across one which happens to be lhd, and has a gearshift knob engraved with "xxx/502" on it!
