Maybe its the fact that spare parts or accessories is harder to get. With Proton you can easily get the parts since it is Malaysian made. In Korea, accent gls(known as VERNA Sense) is popular due to easy access to parts and cheap accessories.

Anyways, thats only my opinion. Could be something else. Who knows. Why dont u do a survey on why it is so... ;)
