Actually, when I meant too small is for application. From 215/45 to 215/40, overall diameter is more than 3% smaller.215/45 shud be ok, 215/40 as u sed is too small edi for wider wheels
The higher the sidewall the smaller the rim width. 215/45 recommend 7 to 8 inch rims,ok im confused here haha
erm...ok...let's say with the 215/40, wudnt there be lesser sidewall to stretch over the 8jjs? with lesser sidewall wont there be more slant?
like those old skoolers, they can only use high aspect ratio tires to stretch over the super wide old skool rims
Oh! those I call Ah Beng style already....actually what i referred to were those like 13 inch old skool 8jjs, that sort, where they are able to put on 185 width tires, as long as the profiles were large, like 185/60 to 185/70 so they have more sidewall to stretch, hipari styyyyyle
of course this is not recommended for track work la hehe
TS, uve got chop sirim from 2jzbosskhoyos already, so it shud be ok haha
There are 2 things you have to look out for.OK guys, after reading all the explanation im still confused lol pardon me.
How about:
Im currently using Toyo T1R 205/40/r17 on 17x7jj and my question is, will 225/40/r17 fit? Wouldn't the tires be stretched off the rims - meaning the tire is too wide?
I can't rmb if the offset is +35 or +42
Bro. PocRoc, 215 on 9J?....wow!i run a staggered setup front is 215/45 on 7.5j wheel while the rear is 215/45 on 9j wheel. Not for tracking, but its a nice moderate stretch. Using the same tire as vr2, Champiro HPY. on the 7.5j wheel I felt the sidewall is soft as i recalled while tracking during rd.3 TTA 2012 But after stretching on the 9j wheel its soo hard! Might have over-stretched to safely track. Either I change to an 8j all round or join stance.
