Not only is Shell offering its V-Power formula in its RON 97 petrol but they’re giving away cash prizes too to celebrate with the Shell V-Power 97 Cash Contest that just saw its first winners last week.
Business owner Norwajunizam Abdul Wahab and high school history teacher Mohd Shuha bin Abdul Karim walked away with RM30,000 each as the first and second weekly grand prize winners and the both of them will compete in the Shell V-Power 97 Challenge for the ultimate grand prize of a trip to catch the Abu Dhabi Formula One race.
“I was astounded when informed of the good news. I am determined to win the contest as I know the trip will be an invaluable experience,” shared Norwajunizam,33, on his elation at being selected as a winner.
“I can’t emphasize enough how important education is. I am constantly looking for ways to encourage my student to read and learn more about our history. However, money can be a challenge for many of them. Thanks to Shell, I intend to spend a portion of my winnings on my students, buying them additional resource materials, particularly the ones who will be facing major examinations this year,” said 46 year old Shuha.
“Shell is always looking for ways to reward our customers for their commitment towards the brand over the years. This time around, lucky motorists have the opportunity to win an all expense paid trip to Abu Dhabi in conjunction with the Formula One race in November 2010, on top of winning weekly cash prizes,” explained Leslie Ng, Retail National Sales Manager, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd.
In this first week alone, Shell Malaysia has already rewarded another 304 motorists with cash prizes. By the end of the competition in September, Shell would have given out prizes to a total of 2,432 motorists.
To put yourself in the running, all it takes is to fill up a form, attach the proof of purchase receipt to it and drop it into the contest box at your nearest Shell station. If you pump a minimum of RM30 of V-Power 97, you’ll receive double the entry forms.
The weekly prizes stand at RM30,000 with three second place prizes of RM3,000. A further 300 consolation prizes of RM300 are handed out weekly as well.
Once the competition has run its eight week course, each of the first and second placed winners will be put through a question and answer session to whittle down the list to just six of the highest scorers. The top six will then have to go through an obstacle course at Sepang International Circuit which will see the podium finishers make the trip to Abu Dhabi.
