rebuilding your ecu not recommended, better buy a halfcut ones....or better get a standalone ECU @ haltech....hehe.....

Hi Danz, I am afraid that i can't agree with that, as i have seen many cases how fragile is the h/cut ECU. Friend of mind replaced 4 ECU (toyota) in one year. All from halfcut. Spend more than RM1.8k! My previous ECU that bought from h/cut, only lasted me for 1 year. One of my customer's car stall at Gua Musang (running v6tt). After i rebuilt the ECU for him and he went back there, all his car's accessories gone!

If your ECU is built on '91~'96 (you can get it from your engine model), they are now reaching the end of its lifespan. REBUILT is the only way to fully gain back its function and reliability. However, the work quality will determine the reliability of the ECU. If you get a wrong guy to rebuilt your ECU, you may ended screwing up your ECU.

another question my fellow bro...if rsa mcm jerking bila tekan minyak or sometimes bila nak stop or slow down di sebabkan apa? it is becoz of gear change not smooths or dlm erti kata lain, gearbox da problem?

tq for the info bro...but just wondering, how long does it take to rebuild the ecu? & how much would it costs?, halfcut ones really depends on luck also rite? at least they will give 1 week warranty......

that wat worries me, im afraid the person will screw up my ecu....

SyahV6 : Imho, just tukar to manual Gbox bro, solves alot alot of ur problems, better fuel consumption + power also.

Unless u dont like manual and want to go for auto, do as Danz advice loh, Install ATF cooler + fan after u get a new auto g box. Ur gbox about to kong.

Danz : Top overhaul set spareparts shop sells 1 set ka ? any recommended brands or get mmc 1 ? 5-7 days to overhaul alamak....

yes, bro they do sell, if not i got sell as well, i think its cherry brand.....made in japan.
5-7 days is estimation, some wshops might take 2-3 days.

Same cases like my GB, but bila tekan minyak takde, just bila slowing down or nak stop aje terasa macam jerking.. if I install the ATF, will it selamatkan my GB?
bout no budget now la.. if rebuild, how much the cost, n if change new, how much the cost?

bros, any tips to know which part actually causing the smoke coming off the exhaust pipe? we got 3 normal case, valve seal leak and piston ring makan or turbo oil seal leak. all give smoke out. but how to know which one is the culprit. hmm can i use vacumm boost meter reading for checking piston ring leak? mine reads -500Hg idle & -700Hg when slowing down.

valve seal - oil will leak
piston ring - if your engine oil always kurang & need to top up frequently.
turbo oil seal - puffs out blue smoke.

Pernah tanya kat workshop, if rebuild or service GB lebey kurang dalam RM3.5K...sama jer kos mcm cari GB lain....headache :hmmmm:

222 - from eterna 1.8 8.5" flywheel, longer gear ratio
232 - from eterna 2.0 9" flywheel, longer gear ratio
312 - from eterna 2wd 9" flywheel short gear ratio
332 - from eterna 4wd twin turbo, need to lock to 2wd. - short gear ratio, some comes with short shifter.

**those above are the codes of the manual gearbox.

make sure the manual gbox is complete, gear lever, gear cable, clutch pedal etc...not just the gearbox itself.

** yes there is much difference......im currently running on ron95, so far so good. no engine knocking sound.

** shell & castrol magnatec alot of immitations in the market, beware when choosing your oil.

** recomended semi syn. brand depends on your wallet.
