even if you do a top transplant , the ECU has to be swapped for a stand-alone unit, as stock K20A3 cams only runs on 2 lobes.
no need top transplant la. just throw the whole useless K20A3 engine away.
by the way... to answer your question maverick... the 2200rpm engagement is NOT Vtec. its actually when the K20A3 engine switches from running on 12valves to 16valves.
Below 2200 rpm, only 1 of the 2 intake valves are opened. this is to save fuel.
K20A3 engine does NOT have actual Vtec.
There is no "wild cams" switchover point.
The Type-S (JDM) is meant to be a fuel efficient base model, not a modded race car.
Thats why we're all telling you to go with the Type-R and stop wasting your time on the Type-S if its power you want.
Other than that... you can do what lightningfield suggests....get the Type-R...swap in Civic 2.0 auto gearbox...and sell us your manual box cheap cheap!
