hi guys..

just wondering. what is the loudest exhaust system u can get for a fd3s?

what types do you guys use?

is it possible to have straight pipes?

thanks guys..

:driver:

Possible and u get the best flow if its of the right diameter. DO IT! F^%K the aftermarket crap we all usually buy

heard straight pipe is quite dangerous cause its below the fuel tank and if its too hot it'll may blow...is tat true?

went to ask them JFA is sunway today..said 3 inch straight pipe plus blitz should be loud...

what do u guys think?

right now am using HKS with 3 inch

Bump: will just straight pipe alone be too loud??

Philip, how does Apexi Hayabusa look like?

yeah i heard abt it before...apparently its illegal...

have u guys seen the red sun yellow 350z? think that has got a straight pipe with a cone like end.

how abt that?

cause if just straight pipe look a bit odd right?

anybody u know using it?

How about the sound of HKS windmaster? that one that look like ex5 exhaust pipe...

TitanRev - never heard of it bro...btw, r u from sban?

anyways was at JFA in Sunway earlier...he quoted me

RM750 for the 3 inch straight pipe

RM1100 for Blitz muffler

do u guys think its expensive?

know where else i can do it cheaper?

thanks!

kk, yup. I'm living in Seremban.

Loudest exhaust for FD3S = get a 3 inch SUS 301 stainless steel, down-pipe straight to outlet. No cat, no pre-silencer, no muffler. The thinnest metal you can get.

If you want it louder, have the pipe out the side of the car instead of at the back. Just remember which side the pipe is out as you will cook anybody's legs when you drive pass.

Yeah was thinking of getting 3 inch straight out..but will it have any effect on the engine? cause no back pressure right? Does it increase power?

Also how will be sound be like? During idling and acceleration?

Has anyone done this before?

If i do this, how much do you think it will cost?

:burnout:

I found a few vids with straight pipes..

Thanks bro

the first one sounds like a truck...

the second one is nice...

So KK, made up your mind already?:biggrin:

kk13,

3 inch straight pipes are not road legal in most parts of the world due to noise and emissions. And they are not neighbour friendly - they could hear you a mile away.

Turbo-charged race engines use straight pipes - the lack of back-pressure means that the exhaust can flow freely right through the turbo improving available power at the upper end of the rev range. I am told that low-end torque supposedly suffers but this being a turbo engine, I can't really imagine why.

This is not the same for most NA engines.

Edit: please note that large straight pipes do not increase power. The power output of your engine is still the same. It merely makes more power available as less energy is required to overcome back-pressure - you free up maybe 5HP at most :)
