Hi All,

I own a IS250 UK spec. Generally, car is very comfortable except for rear leg room :D
Anyway, got an error lately whereby the 'Check Engine', Engine light and Traction light came on all together. ANy idea what this means? Where can I find a really good and experience workshop who can probably help and service my IS250?

Thanks in advance.

EC

Yeah, rear leg room is pathetic. My brother say "Myvi is more comfortable! more space!" DARN!

Check out Vision Motorsport - was told their boss drove the IS250 for some years previously

guys,

i don't know if you knew this or not, but it's something i just learnt so i thought i'd share with you.

i know this work for my is250 JPN spec. on your remote, (car is locked) if you press the unlock longer ( i think about 4-5 seconds) all the windows will open automatically.......
and when you want the windows to go back up, just press and hold the lock buttom (for 4-5 seconds) and the windows will go up.

cool huh ;)
I did noticed that too... I thought it was only for IS250.. However, I realized that my bro new camry and my mom's harrier came with that too.. ><" But, that's really cool.. :D

I've tested my IS250 JP on the highway back to my hometown last week.. It was superb! Smooth and great accelerations!! However, I think I do realized the so called speed cut (or Rev cut).. I'm not sure whether I'm correct though... When I drove passed 150-170km/h, it was on 6th Gear and about 3k rpm... after passed through about 3.5-4k rpm.. the gear shifted down automatically to fifth gear... However, the speed still keep increasing until go passed the meter limit > more than 180km/h... Is that so called speed cut?

yup yup,we did't notice we always put D drive, but we shift to tiptronic,it happen to fifth gear, but once you removed speed cut,the driving is different,u need shift to 6th gear, our engine is new technology and performance touque very high,i like the fuel bec so so save oil,off course we maintain ori part to keep this tip top:driver:

ikennylaw,

i actually learnt about after watching a video on youtube about a american guy who turbo'ed his ISF. he was just going on with the car and mods and showed the window thingy... so curiosity just set in and i had to try it.

i've done slightly over 180kmh too, it looks like it could be 185kmh or something. but it does not go any further....... i thought that was the speed cut.

Hi Bro Mic Tie & Bro turbo_menace,

Hehe, I tested this morning 4am again to KLIA to drop off my brother.. Yes, I think I've confirmed that it's speed cut.. about 185-190km/h and it doesn't go further anymore.. But, i think i can live with it for now.. as I agreed with Bro Mic Tie as it saves petrol!! Hehe..

One more thing, I'm not sure this only happened to Japan spec IS250 only as... The speedometer color changing for speed and rev limit, e.g. setting the orange color changing... seems like the speed limit for orange color only can set up to 120km/h MAX (which close to cruise control limit 110km/h-120km/h MAX)... and obviously the red color was preset to 120km/h and cannot be changed... Does anyone for UK spec or local has the same?

hi everyone,

i just got my new ride last week, is 2006 UK spec, and have some questions to check with all the shifus here :

1. the dashboard meter is calculate by km or miles ? because when i drive the car back from kl to jb, i realise that in ODO mode is calculate by miles, but when i switch to trip A mode, it is calculate by km ?? that is why get confused.

2. mines come wif the nav system, is anyone of u know how to connect iphone to the monitor ? my car come with a plug in the center console , but i guess it can only connect with ipod. i tried to plug in iphone, but system cannot recognize the device.

3. is IS250 alarm system as sucks as camry ? just drill a hole able to disable the whole alarm system ?

thanks in advance

One more thing. can one of the IS250 owner create a new thread
1) Maintenance schedule and cost.
2) Basic data about IS250 and specs.

We can pin it up for future reference for potential buyers

I've confirmed uk spec ODO meter is based on miles, not km. So if ODO meter show that the car has used for 30,000++ , u have to multiply by 1.61 = 48,000++ km, dun be fooled by the salesman that the car has only used 30,000++.

The next big question IS..are those what you see the ACTUAL mileage that was clocked during it's time in the country of origin?????
Think about it....

ikennylaw,

actually we can change the settings for the waning light on the meter. for both speed and rpm. problem is the setting part is all in japanese :(

also my AFS is off now, tried setting it to on b ut once again everything is in japanese. i downloaded the is250 users manual. should be the standard one for all, quite a number of things that can be done if everything was in english.............

even the main screen to connect bluetooth and all susah to do.

maybe all us jap specs should hire a japanese translator and spend like a couple of hours to lset and learn more about the car.

i checked with my acc shop guy and he said can change to english by changing the ECU to UK model........guess the cost.......... 13K!!!!

How much is the insurance for a 2000cc car and above? Anyone can provide me a list? I am considering to get a 2000cc car but have to look into the insurance, maintenance and other considerations before I buy one. Thanks.
