Subaru had recently taken the covers off their new Impreza Sport Hybrid which will go on sale in Japan starting July 10. This new model represents Subaru’s second hybrid model after the 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid and offers a range of 20.4km/liter!
Powering the Impreza Sport Hybrid is a four-cylinder 2.0-liter DOHC horizontally-opposed engine working hand-in-hand with an electric motor and a high-voltage battery pack, enabling “superb drivability”. All the power is sent through an all-wheel drive system exclusively through a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Rolling on 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/50 R17 tires, the Imperza Sport Hybrid also receives a sportier body kit which includes a revised front end, roof-mounted spoiler, LED taillights as well as some interior tweaks such as the blue accents, piano black panels, metallic trim and Ultrasuede seats which comes with the S version.
Subaru is aiming to sell 500 of them per month and each will cost USD 20,350 (RM 76,322) and USD 21,400 (RM 80,260) for the S variant. Customers will have five body colours to choose from: ice silver metallic, crystal silica, deep sea-blue pearl, quartz blue pear along with crystal white pearl and Venetian red pearl.
