Although creations from Caterham are undeniably fast, the design they implemented are pretty much what you call as ‘old fashioned’. There’s no denying that the Caterham AeroSeven had finally addressed this issue, but unfortunately the production of this good looking car has been delayed until fall of 2015. If you can’t wait that long, then probably something from Zenos might be the perfect replacement candidate.
After launching the E10 track car earlier this year, the British sports car manufacturer has followed up by launching more potent variants of the car known as the E10 S and E10 S Track. There is no surprise that the Zenos does resemble the Caterham at some point as it is the creation of former Caterham managers.
The new E10 S gets the same power plant as the E10, but the Ford-sourced 2.0-liter four cylinder engine gets a turbocharger that pumps up the power from 200 to 250-horsepower. The torque figure on the other hand rises to almost double the amount from 154 to 295 lb-ft. With such power, zerotohundred is dealt in just 4.0 seconds, compared to the E10 that does it is 4.5. Top speed remains the same at 217km/h.
But if that is yet fast enough for you, they could bring the E10 to the meaner side with the E10 S Track. This hardcore variant comes with a six-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, adjustable Bilstein dampers, a four-point racing harness and a quick-release steering wheel.
