The upcoming Nismo GT-R is just about the hottest topic of the moment – why? Well, when rumours start spreading about a 2-second car, its going to catch the attention of enthusiasts everywhere. Since its debut in 2007, the Nissan GT-R has not stopped to mesmerise the world with its ludicrous performance and as its lifespan hits its 6th year, with the engineers at Nissan probably running out of brains to make the GT-R faster – they’ve called the boffins at Nismo to work on the fastest GT-R ever produced.

Over the past couple of months – the news has spread that the Nismo GT-R will go around the Nurburgring in less than 7 minutes and 18 seconds, shattering the 911’s lap time and creating a stir as to “how much faster can the Nissan GT-R go?”. Well, according to an engineer at Williams Advanced Engineering, he claims that there is so much more room for improvement on the GT-R and its absolutely easy to return big gains!

Williams, the British based company is working hand-in-hand with Nismo to create the ultimate GT-R and for the geeks that knows about them, they’ll remember that Williams too had their hands on the pretty cool Juke-Nismo project. Of course, that is other than the F1 team that they used to run.

Alright – facts and figures on the Nismo GT-R. It will still run the VR38DETT engine, however it should be packing more than the current 560 horsepower figure. We reckon at least 600bhp! Then, there’s the weight reduction process. We have always thought about how much faster a GT-R could go if it weighed so much lighter – and definitely this is something we don’t have to wonder soon enough. Rumours are running that the Nismo GT-R in the werks will run the Zerotohundred sprint in just 2-seconds flat. Seriously? That’s faster than a Bugatti Veyron Super Sports!

No production car has achieved a time below 2.5 seconds and it’ll be mind boggling to find the already fast (2.8 seconds 0-100 sprint) Nissan GT-R to cut even more of the sprint time. No doubt that this project will be fighting against the laws of physics. But only time will tell, with the project making a debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in November.

So once again, the Nissan GT-R… anyone want to go against it?
