MTM is back with their latest take on Ingolstadt’s flagship luxury super saloon – the Audi S8. We don’t get to see that many of these highway munching jets on our shores but no doubt that it has caught the attention of many power craze enthusiasts looking for a comfortably sedate and luxurious way of travelling really fast. Despite the eye-opening numbers from Audi, Motoren Technik Mayer (or MTM) thinks that it can go even faster!

Finished in black-on-black interior and exterior, the S8 is powered by Audi’s 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine which churns out 520bhp and 650nm. Good enough right? But with some computer wizardry, MTM managed to push the boundaries of the block and extracting an extra 130bhp – making a high figure of 650bhp and 800nm. Mind boggling..

Set to impress Jason Statham, this is the Transporter’s answer to a fast getaway car for any bank jobs, or for normal people – to the office and back. MTM is confident with the S8’s upgrade; pushing the Zerotohundred sprint in 4-seconds flat and will continue to go through the wind all the way to 182mph.

To match the power, MTM has improved on the necessary equipments to ensure that the chassis can take the extra punch. The tune will come with a more powerful braking system, an F-cantronic suspension module and MTM’s quad-pipe sports exhausts system. At the same time, the S8 MTM features a 21″ multi-spoke lightweight wheels wrapped in 305 section rubbers to transmit the power to the tarmac.

Catering for the niche market, there aren’t that many fast german luxury saloons. Taking into consideration the MTM S8’s nearest tuned rival, the Alpina B7 and Mercedes S63 AMG is no where near the power figure of MTM.

This is however nothing new to MTM, as they are famous for their take on Audi’s RS6 C6, squeezing 720bhp from the 5.0-litre v10 engine. However there is a bit of a question.. Is this upgrade really something the S8 needs? Audi’s recent downsizing from V10 to V8 is to cater for the ever-going stringent emission requirements but my wonder returns as to how much the tiny 4.0-litre V8 can take..It may not be difficult to extract power in a force-inducted car but there muse be a limit as to how much the parts can take.

Nevertheless – this is MTM’s answer to the superfast luxury saloon market. If you’re in a rush to grab your hands on one, the very iteration on the pictures is for sale at 155,000 euros (or RM 667,000 duty unpaid). MTM is one of the best in the business and no doubt that their take on the S8 will worry the likes of Ferrari 458s, especially on the german autobahn. Want a fast car to go to the office?
