AMG Blesses More Power for the C63 in the Edition 507

The guys over at Mercedes’ tuning house AMG can never be told “enough is enough”, and that is much more apparent when we are talking about power. Their take on turning the civilized C-class coupe into a tire-shredding C63 AMG in just out of this world, and that is just the start of it. Mercedes is now introducing for the new 2014 model a much more aggressive 6.3-liter monster called the C63 AMG Edition 507.

From the name itself, we could already tell that this new model has 507-horsepower punishing the rear wheels to oblivion. Still powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine, the Edition 507 has 56-horsepower more than the standard model, thanks to the internals from the SLS AMG which includes forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft.

Coupled up with a tweak to the ECU, the Edition 507 also comes with 450 lb-ft of torque and makes a 0-100 dash in 4.1 seconds. The brakes have also been upgraded to handle the extra power, where we can see the standard brakes being replaced with a new high-performance compound that incorporates higher fatigue strength and lower warping characteristics.

The 507 also receives aluminum hood similar to the C63 AMG Black Series, 19-inch alloy wheels, a trunk lid spoiler, a glossy black finish on the grille and daytime running lights. Still housing the seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT7, buyers can still opt for a limited-slip rear differential.

The car will be replacing the current AMG Development Package option, and pricing will only be revealed on the car’s debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next month.
