Why Speeding in the Rain is Not Recommended; Even in a BMW M3

Driving a rear-wheel drive car is not that easy; well it is until you mash the gas a bit further for a tail-happy moment. Add that up with a car that has enough power to bury you deep down into the driver’s seat and a torrential rain that does not just limit the visibility but also turns the road into a giant skid pad, it becomes an equation that leads to an ugly result.

The E92 BMW M3 Coupe has 414 horsepower coming out from its 4.0-liter V8. Although this German-made machine could reach some serious speeds, maybe it is a good idea to reserve such ability for a dry day, or much preferably on the tracks as a video from China shows how dangerous it is to be doing so on a rainy day.

While travelling down the highway, a grey M3 was caught on video overtaking the recording vehicle in high speeds with a road condition that is less than friendly. But instead of settling in the lane that the Bimmer intended to go, it kept on heading straight to the center divider, catapulting the Bimmer airborne with a couple of rolls before coming to a halt.

A case of not being able to handle the power properly or hydroplaning, you be the judge. But what is comforting is that even with such a crash, no one was seriously hurt in this dramatic crash which could have involved the recording car too. As for the M3, it had suffered a heavy damage especially with that head-first bang into the barrier.
