UMW Toyota Announces ‘Special Service Campaign’ for PWMS!

UMW Toyota Motor has just announced that they will be conducting a ‘Special Service Campaign’ to help address some issues of affliction on certain Toyota models that involves the possibility of the sliding contact module in the driver’s side Power Window Master Switch (PWMS) becoming a tad ‘sticky’ when operating.

This campaign is also being conducted by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Japan, where specialised grease for the PWMS will be applied to help provide some peace of mind and to ensure that all is working well.

Currently, UMW has indicated that there are about 63,083 Toyota vehicles sold in Malaysia which may require this Special Service Campaign, but have yet to receive any reports of the case in mention.

However, UMW isn’t taking any chances and are thus looking to ensure that the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS) are in perfect working order for the Camry, Corolla Altis, Vios, RAV 4 and Yaris having been produced between 2006 and 2010.

As soon as the improved parts are available, UMW Toyota Motor will contact all affected customers for the special service campaign to carry out the necessary corrective measures. The procedure process is expected to take approximately one hour.

No other Toyota and Lexus models sold by UMW Toyota Motor produced before 2006 and after 2010 are affected by this campaign.

Customers may also contact Toyota free-phone 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682) for further information or assistance.
