Do I need to use cigarette lighter socket for power?

the ciggie socket power is optional. the unit can be powered by the OBD2 socket itself. The unit will shut it self down when there is no readings from your vehicle sensors for 1 minute, it will power up itself when there is readings such as RPM and e.t.c.

- Segment LCD Display for enhanced daylight visibility.
- Display Parameters*: Engine RPM, Vehicle Speed, Battery Voltage, Intake Air Temp, Water Temp.
- Unit displays in both km/h and MPH for the vehicle speed, as well as Celsius and Fahrenheit for all temp readings.
- Unit also has a peak hold function.
