Weighing in at a 6.3 lbs and measuring 360mm (W) x 270mm (D) x 25 mm(H), this is a large notebook by comparison. The large 15.4 WXGA display accounts for much of the size and weight. One of the most beautiful features about the M30 is the incredible display. The technology along with everything else allows the display to work at resolutions 1280 x 800 at 16.7 million colors. Like its competitors, the M30 is capable of working with external displays at resolutions as low as 800x600 to 2048x1536. This is absolutely impressive. But this impressiveness is driven by a powerful nVIDIA GeForce Go 5200 video display chipset 64MB of DDR RAM
Powered by two beautiful Harman Kardon stereo speakers that provide full duplex 16-bit sound, this set of speakers is no match. The more intriguing thing is the fact that such sound comes from a 1-inch speaker. It was clear and had adequate bass; if you want full bass, you'll have to buy a separate bass speaker. In order to protect your neighbor from your explosive sound, the M30 features two sound ports towards the right corner for easy access. The standard port is better able to reproduce the much coveted 3D sound.
In order to control your sound, there are external buttons at the front for play, stop, and forward and back that let you control Windows Media Player. But these buttons can be reassigned for other purposes. There's even an external volume control, which you'll find particularly useful if you're going to be playing music while the M30's display is almost in the closed position.
