R3-Satria (gti)

hello,

I don't have SR3..so can i join u guys on next TT ?

p/s: btw I'm gonna get my R3 by next month...hope can join u guys.

Incube, please do come by our TT this thursday. The more the merrier :)

handsome, I've already decided to stop sending my to that dreaded place, except for major services. Not only do you have to wait for over a week before getting your service appointment (which they'll make you wait half a day on the day itself), but you feel like a total idiot when they service your car. No idea about what they're checking and when I asked about a replacement for my gearstick sleeve, they simply said that R3 isn't registered in their database and told me to talk to Motorsports. And the cheek to call me 3-4 times later asking for "feedback", yet doing nothing about it.

During our TT this thursday, I can tell you about a decent PE approved SC I sent my car for the 5000km service. Nice service, you can chat with your designated foreman and they even let you choose what type of oil you want (none of that "Mineral till 50,000km" bullshit). Hell, they even return the surplus oil to you. And it only took 1/2 an hour during peak times (I serviced my car right after our track day ;) )

prozac, sounds good. Where is this SC you mentioned? Maybe we can make it our unofficial SR3 service centre, until R3 announces their real workshop. Why don't we make an appointment next week for a visit/service? Then you can intro us to the foreman.

incube, SR3 owner or not, you are all welcomed!

No need to intro-intro. They're friendly and approachable even with strangers. I was recommended the place by some Satria GTi Club members. I doubt they're 4G93P experts but it's probably because it's a good SC in general.

It's located opposite the Projet Damansara station.

I'd love to just go to Revo coz I trust the guys, but I don't think they are an authorised Proton SC. :/
We go to the place when u are free? Next Saturday perhaps?

R3 not registered in their database eh? That's simply f*cked up. This is exactly what makes Proton a third-rate car manufacturer. The complacency. The 'tidak apa' attitude. R3 has changed views about Proton somewhat, but hell, it's a looonnnnggg way from acceptable standards where customer service and competency is concerned. I hope the guys at R3 can inject some of their DNA into those idiots at PE and PESC. Truly appalling.

The 3S Mutiara Showroom. Nice on the outside. That's about it, man. Not impressed at all.

Let's discuss about it during the TT and come up with a plan to 'hang them by the balls'. A nasty letter or something. I dunno. Open for discussion.

Prozac,

Did you get your gear lever fixed at the SC you mentioned?
I doubt they have the spare part to do that!!

I have to agree with you. its frastrating not knowing what they do to our car!!
My car clocked an additional 40km since I left my R3 there!! KNNCCB, they toke my car to sunway pyramid for luch break!!! Further more my fuel gauge meter droped significatly. I track my mileage, and usually will top up petrol at around 300-340km!! After the service, I had to replenish my tank after doing 260km! Logical deduction, the bloody technician red line my car ALL THE WAY TO PYRAMID FOR LUNCH!!! ***FU)K them***

Btw, the stupid SC at mutiara allows you to use semi-syn (the same service centre guy who told me I cant, said its ok now)!! WTF...its all bullshit I tell you!

The SC I send my car to also does repairs and resprays. They should have quite a lot of parts available, although I didn't ask about the gear lever. BTW, what was the problem with your gear lever?

When you send your car in, it's time to call Captor and ask about your car's wherabouts...see the look on the SC guys faces when they get caught red-handed at Pyramid or whatever.

My gear lever is not fitted properly when i recieve my car. According to Faizal, the supplier provided the wrong part, hence my lever keeps falling.....hmm i thought u have the same problem also (prozac)

God knows where the SC guys went with my car ....40km to be exact

handsome...i also have the prob w/ the gear lever on my car...already made a list for my bro on stuff to do for it..hopefully he gets it done

I do not have the gear lever problem some of you face. Weird.

There is a lot of hanky-panky in Mutiara. This is not even funny. For a flagship outlet, this is unacceptable. And taking the car for a spin for 40kms is totally out of context. These guys should be shot. No wonder it takes a whole day to service a car, where in fact it can be done in less than an hour, even with a queue. 3S, my ass!

I AM NOT sending my car to Mutiara. Ever again.

I will publicise this in whatever channel I can think off. Give it to them, but backed up with facts of course. Idiots.

Correction. The Gear lever is fine. It is the Gear Lever Leather gaiter. On some cars the supplier did not specify the correct tie wrap hence it comes off from the collar that keeps it up and tense.

I have instructed the PESC on how to fix the problem but my guess is some people do not listen carefully.

BTW most of your complains here have been forwarded to management namely PE's CEO, so hopefully some good wil come out of it.

Crash your idea is good, back it up with fact and I'll ensure the correct people will read it.

On Behalf of RaceRallyResearch I apologise for the shoddy service you have been getting from Mutiara.

As for our DNA rubbing off.......

Faisal,

I expect lots of complaints from Proton car owners if an article concerning shoddy service is posted, whether on my blog or otherwise. I want it to be constructive though, not outright bashing. Bashing solves nothing. We should sit down tonight and brainstorm on what to do.

Someone has to start a revolution, why not us? ;) Daring to change?

I think it's just getting used to the wind noise. The external noise isn't overpowering. I don't find noise levels to be outrageously intolerable. I did not buy a luxury car and as such do not expect a quiet one. As long as the noise is induction/intake noise or from the bassy exhaust, it's fine with me. Wind noise is normal, but that's an indication that I'm driving fast, which is really ok!

Those who complain about intolerable noise, perhaps you've bought the wrong car? You want refinement, some luxury and yet has bling bling? Get a SGTi. You'd be much happier, really.
Autofoam is an option, and it does help. This however is undoing what R3 has done to keep the car lightweight and unfussy. Don't expect a quiet car. Not after much sound-dampening material has been removed.

hey guys... just wondering... how many units of R3 is left on sale out there? thinking about.. uh.. 'upgrading' ;)

Check the http://www.proton-edar.com.my site - should be around 50 units.

okay logged in... crap... 55 units left!

would my sebring muffler give better performance on the R3?

I doubt there will be significant difference except for perhaps sound quality (Sebring rocks!) as the exhaust system is already free-flow and tuned. I wouldn't bother if I were you.
