hi all gurus here,i'm having problem with my 9835 tuning as i don't want to take to shop for tuning yet so i decided to tune it myself, but it really complicated..now i just set to "factory eq" only.i need to know how to tune up the following settings:

1.)User EQ-as there can choose from (band1->band5) and the frequency is from 20hx to 20khz(1/2 octave steps),what's that?Need to know how to tune it!

2.)Crossover Settings-how to set this 1?now i'm using component with passive x-over,so what to tune?(Low(LO)->MID->HIGH->LOW(LO)),and the frequency bands:20hz to 200hz(in 1/3 octave steps),what this again?,adjustable slope: 0(FLAT),1(6db/oct),2(12db/oct),3(18db/oct),4(24db/oct).WHICH 1 TO CHOOSE?

and i just always play chinese song, and some RnB,i don't want loud+unclear,i want sq setting, please help me in sq setting please..hehe!

thanks!

the 9835 comes with a 5 band parametric EQ. which means, you can adjust the width, centre frequency and boost/cut.
each band can be used at a certain centre frequency. there must be a certain number of gaps between each band. I forgot the actual value, check the manual.

how is your system connected? if you are running on passive, shouldn't the unit be set for F/R/Sub? based on your question, it seems like the unit is set to 3-way.
if you are indeed running 1 comps in front + 1 Sub, then just the front HP to 60 - 100.
The LP for the sub can set between those value also. you can play around until you find something that sounds best. For slope, can try first with 18dB or 24dB.

bro i just running passive with 1 pair component set at front only with amp and without sub, hehe.

ya i don't know about the freq at all,and user EQ,how to set the band?really complicated..can let me see your current setting?how do you set your sub?rear?front?

I'm running in 2-way front + sub. 1 amp for tweeter, 1 amp for mid and sub.
at the moment,
Sub : LP 80Hz, 24dB
Mid: HP 63Hz, 24dB. LP 3.2kHz 24dB
High: HP 4kHz 24dB

initially, EQ at
50Hz, boost 3dB. widest.
5kHz, cut 3dB. widest.

but, just today I set all to flat. was trying to get some frequency response readings. Already got the graph, but have not set the EQ yet.

Sub : LP 63Hz, 12dB
Mid: HP 63Hz, 18dB. LP 2.5kHz 18db
High: HP 2.5kHz 18dB

this settings may vary from the type of sub, mids, tweets, follow roughly the manufacturing specs, setting the wrong value may damage yr equipment.

this setting is actually quite safe, dont worry

anyway its more than 1 month old posting, if damaged sure make noise oledi last month, haha...
